Advice for an interview for a temporary job

Mention firstly the skills that you have acquired, providing that they will interest your interviewer (expertise of a specific software program, knowledge of certain regulations) and do not detail the experiences which seem less important to you for your career path.

Be ready to explain, if necessary, decisions taken in your career, as well as projects for the future.

Be careful when asked the reasons for leaving a job - do not to say money as your sole purpose. You will only place mistrust in your interviewer.

Think hard before accepting a job offer. Will this post improve your CV?

Do not forget that an interim post is also a way of advancing your career.

If, during an interview, you are asked about a period of unemployment, do not react in a defensive way. Your interviewer is giving you the possibility to explain. Answer politely and clearly about your situation and the choices that you made.

Being successful in an interview for a temporary post is not always easy.

If the placement is straightforward, for a short period of time, or if the assignment is urgent, your interviewer will simply wish to check your skills and confirm the conditions of the job. However, for longer, managerial posts, the interview will be similar to a traditional interview for a permanent post.

It is also difficult to make your interviewer understand how keen you are for the job without giving the impression that you wish to have a more permanent role.
